Visit from Academy of Art Students

On April 23, 2010, in Mixamo, by Oliver

Last weekend, we had a visit from a class from local Academy of Art, where we went over how mocap data is both captured (and with a follow-up session) how it is cleaned up in Motion Builder/Maya. We strapped in one of the lucky students into our custom suit and motion capture gloves and let them run the session! Supervised, of course, by our Motion Capture Director, Nateon.

Some great pictures form the session:

The class getting some “hands-on” tutorials with Motion Capture Director, Nateon.

Lucky student getting suit adjusted and calibrated prior to motion capture session.

Actor doing a human T-pose while being mocap’d.

Future Motion Capture Director tells her actor what to do

Killing motion from our mocap actor – we actually got some height on this one!

Put down the Wacom tablet pen and no one gets hurt.

Pretty much the feeling that we get here at Mixamo from doing mocap (and mentoring students)!
